About me

I have interdisciplinary expertise in biology and optical imaging and have been trained in several world-leading institutes (National Engineering Laboratory for AIDS Vaccine, Jilin University, P. R. China; Institute of Biomedical Materials & Devices, University of Technology, Sydney, Australia. Institute of Respiratory Cellular and Molecular Biology, Woolcock, Australia.). I obtained my B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Jilin Normal University and Jilin University, China, respectively. I am now focused upon researching the causes of respiratory diseases a PhD candidate in Woolcock Institute of Medical Research / University of Technology Sydney.

My Project

In countries considered to have good air quality such as Australia, urbanization has resulted in traffic-related air pollution (TRAP) becoming one of the dominant pollution sources. Maternal exposure to traffic-related particulate matter (PM) during pregnancy negatively affects lung health of the offspring. However, most studies used high doses which do not represent regions with lower levels of pollution. My project is using low dose PM in the mice model to explore the negative influence on the offspring.
