Rashad Mohammad mahbub

Rashad is a PhD student under Distinguished Professor Brian Oliver and Dr Alen Faiz, both from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS).

He completed his undergraduate study in Pharmacy at the University of Asia Pacific in Bangladesh. Followed by a Master’s in Medical Biotechnology at UTS.

Rashad started his PhD in January 2022 PhD and is focussed on the involvement and relationship of chronic lung disease (such as COPD and asthma) with the gut microbiome. Whilst there has been previous mouse modelling research done in this area, Rashad is investigating this relationship using human clinical data.

He is expecting to finish and submit his PhD in early 2025.

He also enjoys hiking and swimming.
