Tashfia eqbal
Tashfia Eqbal is a Master of Philosophy (Medical Biotechnology) student at the University of Technology Sydney. She completed a Bachelor of Pharmacy at the University of Asia Pacific in Bangladesh.
Her master’s studies involve investigating the effects of low-dose PM2.5 (particulate matter with a smaller diameter than 2.5 microns), on lung health using a previously prepared mouse model. Using primarily immunohistochemistry, she is investigating novel markers that had not initially been found for low-dose PM2.5 Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). These new markers were chosen using bioinformatics. A literature search was also done, looking at markers found in other diseases, which it was then determined if the lungs also shared any of those biomarkers.
Tashfia has experience teaching and was a teaching assistant for A-level maths.
