About me
I’ll be the first to tell you that I am an absolute fiend for research and legitimately enjoy all aspects of the field (even the ones I may complain about from time to time). It’s a field where we get to understand and attempt to solve complex molecular problems affecting human health worldwide.
My research in the RRG
My PhD was on epigenetic modulation of small airway fibrosis in COPD. My work showed that ECM genes expressed by airway smooth muscle cells from smokers that developed COPD had a unique epigenetic response when compared to those genes expressed from smooth muscle cells from smokers who never developed COPD.
Where I am now
I currently work in the Bill Walsh Translational Cancer Research Laboratory at the Kolling Institute as the Jane Sherrard Postdoctoral Fellow, specifically looking at gene regulation in the ovarian tumour microenvironment.
