Jos Van Nijnatten

JOS VAN NIJNATTEN

Jos Van Nijnatten is a PhD student at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). Jos completed his bachelor's degree in Biology and Medical Research in 2012 at the Avans Hodgeschool Breda University of Applied Sciences Holland, where he majored in Molecular Research and minored in Bioinformatics.

Jos started his PhD in 2019, in which he will finish soon. The nature of Jos’s PhD involves him spending half of his time at UTS in Sydney, and the other half in the Netherlands.  

Jos’s PhD involves bioinformatic research of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary disease (COPD). Some of his recent publications/ papers in review/ papers he is currently working on include:

-       High miR203a-3p and miR-375 expression in the airways of smokers with and without COPD. (Published 2022)

Jos likes to motorcycle, often taking his camera with him, as he also enjoys film and photography. He also enjoys running and cycling, watching movies, reading books and programming. Jos also teaches at UTS.
